CF Industries’ ammonia terminal at the Port of Tampa provides the
company access to world markets for anhydrous ammonia, a raw
material used in the manufacture of ammoniated phosphate
fertilizers. The terminal has a 38,000-ton ammonia storage tank and
a deep water dock. The terminal is the only one in Tampa capable of
unloading the largest fully-loaded ammonia vessels.
The terminal, operated in conjunction with the company’s phosphate fertilizer storage and shipping operation at the Port of Tampa, ships ammonia to CF Industries’ Plant City fertilizer complex via rail. It also has truck loading capabilities and has access to the local ammonia pipeline.
Each year, the Port of Tampa ammonia terminal handles more than 450,000 tons of ammonia to support CF Industries’ phosphate fertilizer manufacturing operations.
