Anhydrous Ammonia, a gas at ambient temperatures that contains the highest nitrogen content (82 percent) of any fertilizer product. Anhydrous ammonia is applied by injecting into the subsoil. It is also the basic nitrogen fertilizer used to produce upgraded products such as urea (at Medicine Hat) and UAN solution (at CF Industries’ Donaldsonville complex).
   
Urea, a granular fertilizer with a 46 percent nitrogen content that, in its liquid form, can be upgraded into UAN solution (at CF Industries’ Donaldsonville complex). Granular urea is applied using conventional spreader technology.
