The nitrogen fertilizer complex at Medicine Hat, Alberta is Canada’s
largest. It produces and ships nearly 1.5 million tons of
fertilizer each year at capacity.
CF Industries has a 66 percent economic interest in Canadian
Fertilizers Limited which owns the Medicine Hat
complex. The facility, originally built during the 1970s, has
undergone significant modernization since then. Today, it produces
anhydrous ammonia and urea. The complex ships these products by rail
and truck, serving northern tier U.S. Corn Belt states and western
Canadian markets.

Canada relative to the United States.
