UAN solution, produced by combining urea, nitric acid, and ammonia, is a liquid fertilizer product with a nitrogen content that typically ranges from 28 percent to 32 percent. UAN can be applied more uniformly than non-liquid forms of fertilizer. It can be mixed with herbicides, pesticides, and other nutrients, permitting farmers to reduce costs by applying several materials simultaneously rather than making several separate applications.
CF Industries' UAN Solution Production is at its Donaldsonville, LA nitrogen complex. It distributes UAN solution via direct shipment and also through its UAN solution terminals, located primarily in key Corn Belt states.
