Our capacity expansion project at Donaldsonville continues to make progress, with the new urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) plant now up and running - here's the announcement. Completing a world-scale UAN plant is a major accomplishment on its own. But here are four more reasons this is a significant milestone for our company.New Donaldsonville UAN plant

  • The new UAN plant at Donaldsonville is the largest operating single-train UAN plant in the world.

  • The new UAN plant increases Donaldsonville’s potential annual UAN capacity by 75 percent, making it the largest UAN production facility in North America.

  • We’re already the largest producer of UAN in the world – and the new plant increased our company’s UAN production capacity by nearly 28 percent.

  • If the new UAN plant produced its nameplate capacity of 1.8 million product tons in a year, that would be enough UAN to fertilize eight million acres of corn – approximately the acres of corn planted in Minnesota each year.
